Children living in or who have been taken out of domestic abuse situations are not adequately protected in law. Justice Minister Frances Fitzgerald will shortly bring forward new legislation on domestic violence that could also contain provisions that strengthen protections for children. Uplift is teaming up with leading children’s charity Barnardos Ireland who work with children impacted by abuse in the home to ensure it does.
